Jack wakes up in the morning and gets ready for school. When he goes downstairs, he hears his parents arguing about who should take him to school... He ignores the arguing and continues to get ready. When it's time for them to leave for work, they just decide to go to work and let Jack figure out how to get there.

I wonder if my parents are going to come pick me up.
Jack goes to gym class over a half an hour late because he had to walk to school. He so upset about his parents neglecting him, he has no motivation to do any school work or play football in gym class, even though Gym is his favorite subject.

I wonder how that boy Jack is doing. His parents are hardly ever home. I always see them ordering take out.
Jack gets to math class and feels unmotivated from his morning. He does not listen in class, he does not want to talk to any of his classmates, he just wants to sit there and block anyone and everything out. His classmates notice his unusual behavior, but are too young to understand the why?

I wish I had parents that cared for me. I wonder what I am doing wrong that they don't care to do anything for me. I thought parents are suppose to take care of their kids, not let them figure everything out by themselves? Im tired of walking to school, showing up to classes late, having no motivation to do school work, not knowing if my parents will show up for me emotionally/physically. I want to run away from this problem. I feel so helpless, i wish I knew what to do.
Jack has been waiting outside of school for over thirty minutes in hopes that one of his parents will come to pick him up. Jack thinks to himself, what did he do to deserve this type of treatment from his parents.
Mr.Mulligan and his son, Lukas, are looking at their neighbors house. Thats where Jack and his parents live. They always see the family arguing and bringing in take out. Mr.Mulligans wonder how poor Jack lives with his neglecting parents.
Jack is laying in bed and is thinking about his life with his avoidant/neglecftul parents. Jack is only 13 so he is confused with all the feeling he is experiencing. His parents are physically in the house but never there emotionally. He wonders what's wrong with him, and needs an outlet for his problems. He was never taught what to do, or how to fix the way hes feeling so running away from his problems seems to make the most sense for him.
