- Are you ready for school Kevin? We have a long day ahead of us! We better get going.
- Yeah, *sigh* I guess we should go to school carter.
- Tell me Kevin, WHy don't you like going to school? You make it seem like it's the end of the world.
- Well carter, I have come to the realization that, I hate all of the work! They are so demanding and I get stressed out. Sometimes I just choose not to do the work.
- I understand kevin. We do get a lot of homework, but it's preparing us for the future by teaching us to be responsible and staying on top of your work no matter how much work it is or how hard it is.
- So I should keep doing my work because in the future It will help me to be responsible? I know I will need to be mature in order to start a family and keep a job but is homework really the way to help me with that?
- Oh of course! Even though I often feel overwhelmed and sometimes very stressed, homework has taught me to manage my time and to be overall more mature with my work.
- But will I even use any of this "useless" information outside of school? Personally I don't see myself doing calculus, or writing essay's or even recalling dates from history.
- That is a good point Kevin, however just because you may not use any of the particular topics, that doesn't mean you won't use the lessons they bring. These lessons alone mature you and teach you how to be responsible later on. If you can't even turn in homework on time how will you take care of your family?
- You make a great point carter, I would love to have a family someday but if I can't even do my school work and turn it in, how would I be able to keep a steady job and provide for them? Thanks Carter, from now on I will make sure to do my work and stay on top of it no matter how hard it seems.
- Mrs. Connor, I would like to turn in my missing homework. I have decided that from now on I need to be more mature and responsible so that in the future I can support a family. It might be confusing to you hearing that, but after a long conversation with Carter, I realized that just because I may not use the school information, the lessons I will learn from doing my work, and by managing my time while under stress, will help me keep a steady job and provide for my family one day.
