What happened that night? How could this have happened but not been recorded? Why were these women not sentenced to death? Why could no one believe that women could start a revolt so much so that they wouldn't ever record it?
Wow, they could have the answer.
Bob, we got another one...
In my job as a lawyer, I often felt powerless. Like my life needed something more. I was proud of what I did in court, but whenever I walked into court to do my job, I had to fight or was turned away. I felt like I needed something more in my life. So I went back to school to get a Ph.D. in history. I decided to write my dissertation on women-led slave revolts, but little did I know what a journey that would take to find a topic.

You can't come in here!
They would let me in if I was asking about 21st century business topics... or would they?
But I am a historian, I have a PhD! I need to see your files from 1708...
I hit a wall. There was no space for any of their testimonies because all of the documents were filed only with Dom Regina, Dom Regina, Dom Regina. How do we know why, when, and what happened to these women? Why is history so adamant to cover this up? I guess I'll have to find a different source...

Woah, humans have done some pretty bad things in the past but this is just... violating.
I decided I couldn't figure anything out with the limited information that I already had, so I traveled to the London archives to see if they had any historical documents that I could use. This could be hard to find because usually, these documents didn't want to be found for obvious reasons, but I was determined to dig into the history of this story.
And that concludes my dissertation on women-led slave revolutions... thank you everybody for listening!
WOOOO! Yeah!!!
Well done, that was terrific! You can grab your diploma on the way out!
Ugh, this was happening way too much. I'd already been declined at so many places, they just couldn't admit that all of their terrible stuff had happened. I guess I have to give up this case and work on other research... wait! Is that a shipwreck?
I should not have pursued this topic... but wait! This explains everything! When the women were not locked up in the ships, they were put near the weapons- women have started some revolutions! This is all making sense, the men were locked up, but not the women- so they did start revolutions... finally, I'd found a topic!
Even though I had achieved my goal and found a topic for completing my course, it was still something that we had yet to fully realize. Living the in wake of slavery is haunting, and to experience this haunting is to be nothing less than traumatized. Still, it's possible to heal from trauma or to come to terms with it... At first, we might try to block out the horrors from the past, but we must eventually face them and survive in the wake of slavery.
