Storyboard Text

  • It is the stored energy that an object has due to its position or chemical composition
  • They are Potential Energy and Kinetic Energy.
  • Some examples are the sun and microwaves
  • Some examples are Hammering a nail and pulling and releasing an arrow
  • Whats Energy?
  • zzzz.
  • Kinetic energy is the energy of motion.
  • Thermal energy is the energy of heat that happens when molecules move around. More movement=more heat. Less movement=less heat
  • Chemical energy is a type of potential energy. It is stored in food and fuel. It is released when the object goes through a chemical reaction
  • Some examples are a car crashing(kinetic) and fuel in a rocket(potential)
  • Energy is the ability to do work
  • Some examples of Chemical Energy are food we eat and burning wood
  • Lets go somewhere warmer
  • It depends on both the objects mass and the speed at which the object is moving
  • But what are all the other types of Energy?
  • Examples are boiling hot chocolate and baking cookies
  • Whats Potential Energy
  • Electromagnetic energy is the energy that travels in waves. It can travel through empty space.
  • That's really cool.
  • Mechanical Energy can be Potential or Kinetic energy.
  • What are the 2 main types of energy?
  • Fuels that can be easily made or "renewed." We can never use up renewable fuels. Types of renewable fuels are hydropower (water), solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass.
  • Plants get energy from the some. This is light to chemical energy. Also, at a concert electric energy is converted into sound energy by the sound systems.
  • Whats renewable energy?
  • Some examples are a rock on a cliff and a basketball on the edge of a table.
  • Thanks
  • Another example is when car engines burn gasoline this converts chemical into thermal energy
  • Fuels that cannot be easily made or "renewed." We can use up nonrenewable fuels. Oil, natural gas, and coal are nonrenewable fuels.
  • Electrical energy is a type of kinetic energy caused by moving electrical currents
  • Nuclear energy is the energy stored in the nucleus of an atom
  • Whats Non-renewable energy
  • What is the law of conservation of energy?
  • Examples of non-renewable energy are oil, coal, natural gas
  • Some examples are nuclear power and energy that powers the sun
  • Some examples are lighting and batteries
  • Some examples of renewable energies are wind, water, and solar
  • Gravitational Energy is potential energy that an object has because of it heights off the ground. The higher of the ground the more potential energy
  • 5 ways you can save energy are to take a shower rather than a bath, walk and bike to school, keep your windows closed, plant a tree, recycle
  • Energy can be neither created or destroyed
  • What are some examples of energy transferring?
