So let's move on to adaptation and biological species, adaptation is the process by which one species becomes fitted to its environment. This is the result of Natural Selection acting over the variation of heritage over generations. A great example is the way plants adapt to survive in very extreme weather and environments like hot deserts.
On the other side biological species are a group of organisms that can reproduce with one another and produce fertile offspring. We, humans, are a great example of biological species.
We will continue the class with co-evolution and biological evolution, co-evolution is a reciprocal evolutionary change in a group of interacting organisms over time resulting from the interaction between the population. Most of the time the populations are from different species and an example of this is flowering plants and their pollinators.
Biological evolution is the change in inherited traits over generations in a population of organisms. This occurs when variation is introduced into a population by gene mutation or genetic recombination. The resistance to malaria in humans is an example of biological evolution in humans.
Well kids the hour has ended I hope you learn a lot and have fun!
Thanks so much this class was so useful and interesting
