- “Where do you think the water leads,” said Joey. “I don't know but it goes into the forest and we're not allowed to go in there. My mom said that there's dangerous things in the forest and we don't want to get hurt, plus it’s starting to rain anyway,” said Jacob with a frightened look on his face. “Well if we never go then we'll never find out,” Joey says as he starts to walk down the stream. Jacob looks around him then runs after his friend in fear of him getting hurt in the forest.
- As they're walking and watching the Stream, Joey is all excited to go on an adventure while Jacob is concerned that something might happen to them. “What do you think we'll find Jacob,” says Joey. “ Whatever it is, it must be the most amazing thing in the world.” Suddenly the boys have to stop because they have now found a giant pile of rocks blocking their way. They decide to climb over them because the pile was so big that it would take so long to walk around them and it might be dark by the time they get back.
- The boys climb over the rocks and almost slip and fall in the process because all the rocks are soaking wet from the rain. The boys continue walking and talking, having a great time. They then come across a deep dark cave on the side of a hill. “What do you think is in there,” asked Jacob. The boys suddenly hear a slight growl come from the inside of the cave. A bear jumps out very quickly and the boys start to run away, but the bear doesn't chase them. It turns out that the bear actually has cubs and she was just protecting her young.
