- Are you aware that human flourishing and happiness are related?
- I'm not sure, but some people believe that flourishing is the same as happiness for a human being. Why is it correlated, if it is?
- Because it is thought that human flourishing leads to happiness, which leads to a happy existence. Our happiness is both a result and a requirement of properly existing. Although it is related to happiness, flourishing is not the same thing. Having to live a successful life leads to happiness, and happiness leads to greater success and a better life.
- Now, I understand that these two are interconnected and linked, but what can you say about flourishing in life? Is this the same as being happy or not?
- Similarly, human flourishing is defined as an effort to achieve self-actualization and pleasure within a larger community of people while having the flexibility to pursue our own aims.
- A flourishing life is a happy life. It is one in which a number of requirements have been met to varying degrees. These include monetary well-being, health, contentment, strong familial and friendship ties, and a pleasant appearance.
