  • The French and Indian War (1756-1763)
  • No Taxation Without Representation:
  • The French Alliance (1777)
  • In this war the French and the Indians fought against the British and the colonists. They fought over territory. This war is also known as ¨The Seven Years War¨. At the end the colonist and the British won. This war was ended by The Treaty of Paris.
  • Battle of Yorktown (1781)
  • The colonists were being taxed but no vote in parliament, so they claimed ¨no taxation without representation. ¨The colonist didn´t have a voice in the British Government. So the colonists started a boycott and refused to by certain goods from the British.
  • The Treaty of Paris (1783)
  • Since the American defeated the British in the battle of Saratoga, it convinced the French to join the Americans because they beat the British. The French want to fight against their old Rival, Britain.
  • A New Constitution (1787)
  • This was the last major battle of the American Revolution. This was fought at Yorktown, Virginia. The British army surrendered to George Washington on Oct 19, 1781. The Americans won against the British.
  • The Treaty of Paris is what ended the French & Indian War between Britain and France and their respective allies. On this treaty, French gave up their territories in mainland North America.
  • In 1787, a group of people signed a document for the Bill of Rights, life, liberty, and property. They had a social contract that begins with ¨ We the People of the United States¨.
