  • Act 4 Scene 1
  • "A rat, a rat." and in his deranged state of mind he kills the good old man, who is still hidden.
  • Hamlet and Gertrude are talking secretly. Hamlet notices someone else in the room with them, listening to their conversation. Hamlet decides to run to the curtain where he hears the noise, thinking it is Claudius but stabs the lurking Polonius.

  • Act 4 Scene 1
  • As soon as the sun sets we'll ship him off to England
  • Claudius and Gertrude are talking about how Hamlet killed Polonius. Claudius comes up with an idea to send Hamlet off to England. Claudius tells Gertrude that he wants to send Hamlet to England to "deal with him," or in other words, kill him.

  • Act 4 Scene 2
  • I've gotten it dirty - ashes to ashes and dust to dust.
  • Hamlet took Polonius' body out of his mother's room. Rosencrantz Guildenstern were sent by the king to ask Hamlet where he had placed the body. Hamlet gives them clues and riddles of where the body might be.

  • The body's with the king, but the kings not with the body. The kings a thing... A thing of no importance
  • Hamlet is gving Rosencrantz Guildenstern a hard time with trying to figure out where Polonuis' body is. Hamlet goes to speak with Claudius. Claudius asks Hamlet himself where he has put the body at.

  • Act 4 Scene 3
  • Not where hes eating, but where hes being eaten. A certain conference of worms is chowing down on him. Worms are the emperor of all diets.
  • Hamlet starts joking about where he has put Polonius' body. Claudius starts to get frustrated with Hamlet and starts to pressure him into telling him where it is. Hamlet continues to riddle him.

  • Act 4 Scene 3
  • In heaven. Send a messenger there if you want to be sure. If your messenger can't find him, you can check hell yourself.
  • Hamlet finally tells Claudius where he put the body at. Hamlet tells Claudius to send his men to the location in the house. Hamlet also tells Claudius indirectly to search in hell for Polonius where Claudius will also be going.
