- Oh, you look really tired!
- I....yeah, I am exhausted!

- oh..I am sorry to hear that! So, I wanted to ask you if I could have a few minutes of your time to ask you a few questions? It's for a project I am working on. It's about creating better morning experiences for people. Would that be ok with you?
- It's ok! No problem- go ahead

- Great, Thank you! Is it ok if I record you, just so I can pay attention to what you are saying?
- Great. So, why are you exhausted?
- Yeah go ahead, it's ok.
- uuh..I did not get enough sleep last night

- Why is that?
- I went to bed pretty late and I got up early this morning

- Do you usually go to bed late?
- Uh...It depends. I had a project last night. So, I was finishing that up. So, I finished that up quite late and then got up pretty early.

- umm..it varies. I think I go to bed at pretty consistent times unless I have aassignments or projects then I go to bed late because I procrastinate.

- 2. So, my roommate is an athlete- a cross country runner. When she gets up early to go to practice, it wakes me up.
- I see...so, how would you describe your typical sleeping experience?
- And then I don't have to wake up too early, but then some days I wake up very early.
- 1. I see. why does that happen - waking up very early?
- 3.Oh really? Is it her shuffling?
- 5. It's a loud ringtone and I am a light sleeper. So, those wake me up.
- 4.No. So, she sets her alarm early and then snoozes it. Every 5mins, her alarm goes off and she snoozes it multiple times like at 6 am.
- 1. Ok. got it! So, how would you like it if we changed your roommate?
- 2. uuh...I don't know..is that the solution?

- 1. It was just an initial suggestion. On another note, how often do you find yourself awake early per week? Given the projects you mentioned, how frequently do you get them? You like procrastinating on all of them, don't you?
- 2.uh, uh, uh...maybe four times. I don't know. The projects are random, scattered all over the semester. So, tell me how have you been handling that chemistry class? That professor is ridiculous !

- 1. I mean he is not all that bad. I guess I like chemistry. I can help you if you want if you are struggling somewhere.
- 2. Oh that'd be great! Thank you so much! What other classes are you taking?
- 1. Biology 101, Statistics with McCaver and Writing & Engineering 101. How about you...
- 4. Yeah, you did. Thank you so much. That was very helpful!
- 2. I am taking a Psychology Class which has been super interesting. The professor is kinda quirky- which I love. I am also taking a Geography and Anthropology class.
- 3. By the way, I answered everything for your project, right?
- 2.Yeah, that's right.
- 4. Well, I will be transcribing the interviews in a file on my computer and use a password on it.
- 1. I imagine you are also taking to other students?
- 3. That's a lot of information! How are you keeping track of that?
- 2. Not really. Some people are weird about that.
- 4. I have mostly just written some notes of what they say. It's not like they would be opposed to that.
- 1. Has everyone agreed to be recorded?
- 3. So, what have you done then?
