  • BREAD IS HIGH TO AFFORD!!!
  • WE ARE GOING TO VERSAILLES TO TALK TO THE KING!!
  • On October 5, 1789, in Paris, a large group of French women came together in the central marketplace of Paris (Around 7,000 women). They were upset that the price of the bread is high to afford, they wanted to feed themselves and their families but it was hard for them to afford money for the bread so, they decided to go to Versailles.
  • Oh no!
  • Once the women reached Versailles they went through the gates anddemanded bread, they were armed with pitchforks, muskets, pikes, swords, crowbars, and scythes.
  • I promise you
  • The woman stormed into the gates, destroyed everything in their path. And they had killed two Royal bodyguards.
  • Paris Bakery
  • King Louis and Queen Marie were scared for their lives, they were 20,000 French national guards to protect the royal family but they still managed to break into the place.
  • King Louis quickly gave into the women’s every demand. The King promised the women all the bread in his Palace of Versailles, after that, there was more bread in Paris sent out to them.
  • Hungry women changed history and this showed that women could be a driving force in history. They took their rights into their two hands and solved a huge problem that their men couldn’t, The Woman March to Versailles also gave the woman a strong role in the French Revolution.
