Before the Industrial Revolution Britain's economic activity was based on agriculture. Work started at sunrise and ended at sunset. The source of power came from only people, animals and waterwheels. People worked in small farms in rural areas. Food that was produced was just enough to feed the local. Roads were poor and people travelled by foot or horse .people.
The Enclosure movement was public land that was used by villages for grazing and raising livestock but was then taken away from them and given to the rich. These land usually had walls, fences and hedges around it. Since the land was taken away from the villagers, the villages had to find a way to survive so they moved to cities and town to look for jobs which ended ended up with the vast majority of the locals working in factories
After the industrial Revolution there was running water, central heating, improved sewage systems, increase in food production. There were railways and there were more farmlands and how housing areas. There was also pollution in the waters and atmosphere, There was a population explosion and the Industrial Revolution left humanity dependent of carbon fuels such as petrol and gas.
