Storyboard Text

  • Act 2 Scene 1
  • He ran this way and leapt this orchard wall
  • Nay, I'll Conjure too. Romeo! Homours! Madman! Passion! Lover!
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • Do not swear: Or if thou wilt, swear by thy gracious self
  • What shall I swear by?
  • Act 2 Scene 3
  • I pray thee chide me not. Her I love now doth grace and love for love allow: the other did not so
  • For this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households' rancor to pure love
  • Mercutio and Benvolio are leaving the Capulet Castle after the party. As they are leaving they see Romeo climbing over a wall and that is when both Mercutio and Benvolio start to make fun of him. They make fun of Romeo for loving Rosaline.
  • Act 2 Scene 4
  • Tis no less, I tell ye, for the bawdy hand of the dial is now uopn the prick of noon
  • Romeo has left Benvolio and Mercutio to go after his newly discovered love Juliet Capulet. Romeo watches Juliet as Juliet softly speaks about why Romeo had to be a Montague. Romeo then pops out of the corner and they begin to flirt.
  • Act 2 Scene 5
  • Now, good nurse-O lord, why look'st thou sad? Though news be sad, yet tell them merrily: if good, thou shamest the music of sweet news by playing it to me with so sour a face.
  • Then hie you hence to friar Lawerence" cell, there stays a husband to make u a wife.
  • Ah, Juliet, if the measure of thy joy Be heaped like mine and that thy skill be more To blazon it, then sweeten with thy breath This neighbor air, and let rich music's tongue Unfold the imagined happiness that both Receive in either by this dear encounter.
  • Romeo has arrived early morning to meet with Friar Lawerence to confess his love to the friar. The friar has asked young Romeo why he was here so early in the morning (Friar Lawerence is insisting that Romeo had sexual intercourse with Rosaline). Romeo then tells the friar that he has moved on from Rosaline and is now in love with Juliet Capulet and that he wants the friar to marry them this afternoon.
  • Act 2 Scene 6
  • The Nurse arrived at the Montague house early in the morning to talk to Romeo minutes before this conversation Mercutio had told Romeo that Tybalt of the house Capulet has challenged him to a duel. Benvolio and Mercutio start to make sexual jokes toward the nurse and the Romeo tells them to stop and takes the nurse aside for a side conversation. Romeo then talks to the nurse about marriage and the nurse questions his manners.
  • One, Gentlewoman, that god hath made, himself to mar
  • Juliet awaits the answer of Romeo from the nurse and when the nurse returns, the nurse takes many minutes before telling Juliet to meet Romeo at the Friar's cell to be married.
  • In this scene, Romeo waits for Juliet in the friar's cell. He talks to the friar about his deep profound love for Juliet. Friar Lawerence then warns Romeo that a marriage moving too fast could lead to death which again is some foreshadowing. Just as Juliet enters the cell the friar advises the two to get things rolling and soon after the two become husband and wife.
  • Conceit, more rich in matter than in words, Brags of his substance, not of ornament. They are but beggars that can count their worth; But my true love is grown to such excess, I cannot sum up sum of half my wealth.
