- We meet the main protagonist, Scotty Smalls. He just moved into the neighborhood. He's new to town with no friends. Smalls meets his new neighbor, Benny Rodriguez. Benny becomes his new friend and introduces him to the team. At first no one likes Smalls because he doesn't know anything about baseball.
- Falling Action
- Smalls meets his new neighbor, Benny Rodriguez. Benny becomes his new friend and introduces him to the team. At first no one likes Smalls because he doesn't know anything about baseball.
- Resolution
- After a dream, Benny decides he needs to get the ball on his own. Despite past efforts, he puts on a pair of P.F Flyers and jumps the gate to grab the ball.
- Conflict
- When Benny grabbed the ball, he woke up The Beast causing a fast paced chase. The Beast breaks out of the yard and all types of crazy things as they chase each other around town.After being chased around town, Benny led The Beast back to his home. The beast had gotten stuck underneath the gate.
- Feeling bad for the beast, they let him go from underneath the gate. They figured they had to tell The owner of the beast about their shenanigans. Mr. Myrtle. asked the kids if they wanted to come in and have a chat about what happened. He reveals to them that he was once a member of the dodgers. He ended up giving them a ball signed by all the dodgers. In the end, Scotty becomes accepted by the team as a member and as a friend.
- While the team was playing, Benny ends up "busting the guts out the ball". Scotty ends up taking a ball from his step father's trophy room. Little did he know, he took a ball signed by Babe Ruth. While playing, the boys hit the ball into the backyard of "The Beast". Without getting eaten by the beast, they have to find a way to get the ball back.
