  • Why prevention is important?
  • The safety of online privacy issues in schools is increasingly becoming a focus of state legislative action. So if you are the victims or witnesses of cyberbullying, do not hesitate to immediately report the incident to the school council. Counsellors are available all the time to help on the issues that students face.
  • How is Cyberbullying different from in person- bullying?
  • About 37% of children between 12 and 17 years experienced cyberbullying at least once. 60% of young people had witnessed their peers aged 12-17 as of 37% being bullied but they did not bother to try and stop the bullying.
  • How do we stop cyberbullying without giving up access to the Internet?
  • The bullied person can have problems in school such as issues with depression, slipping grades, and could even resort to drug use to deal with the problems caused by the bullying they experience. They will face many problems after they expel or quit from school.
  • Internet companies don't seem to care about online bullying. Are they being held responsible?
  • In face-to-face bullying, as the name suggests, you are very aware of who your bully is – or bullies are. Even if they slander you behind your back, they usually make a show of it. On the other hand, cyberbullies have an extra advantage: the internet can provide them with the extra layer of anonymity.
  • You may want to delete certain apps or stay offline for a while to give yourself time to recover. But getting off the internet is not a long-term solution. You did nothing wrong, so why should you be disadvantaged for bullies.
  • Internet companies are increasingly paying attention to the issue of online bullying. If you are worried about your safety or something that has happened to you online, urgently speak to an adult you trust.
