- Hi! I'm Makato.
- Once upon a time there was a boy named Makato. He was an orphan, and had no friends or family to take care of him. Because he had to make his own living he did all kinds of odd jobs.

- What are you thinking so much deeply my boy?
- The land you wished was called Sukhothai.Yes, you're right. And also, their King is good-hearted. He's Pra Ruang.
- Makato travelled so far to Sukhothai. And decided to try his fortune. Makato started his journey and met a woman whose husband works for the King as a mahout- a person who tends elephants.

- Luckily when they are working in the elephant sheds, King Pra Ruang visited the place and saw Makato. The King just gave positive praises to Makato. As the koing walked away, Makato saw a cowrie shell (a form of money) lying on the ground and wanted to give it back to the King, the King gave it to Makato.

- Your money is not enough to buy the seeds.
- Let me put my wet finger in the seeds and the seeds that sticked to my finger will be mine.
- Makato wanted to make useful as much as possible the cowrie shell. He went to the marketplace and bought some lettuce seeds and then the woman gave it to him for one brilliant condition.

- I used the cowrie shell you gave to me and I boughtsome lettuce seeds and planted it.
- Makato planted the seeds and after a month, the seeds grew, and the biggest lettuce was given to the King by Makato. The King was amazed and Makato tells the whole story. How he made use the cowrie shell and able to grew lettuces.

- Makato became a loyal person of the king. The king was so glad that he made Makato as his right hand. Makato grew up handsome and he married the Kingś daughter.

- I would like to go to a journey for adventure in the northeast. I've heard that the land their is fertile and the people are kind.
- I was lucky to meet the King. How wonderful the King give me a cowrie shell.
