After reaching the suite. Tom and Gatsby begin arguing over who is better for Daisy. Tom then confronts him about Gatsby and Daisy's love confession that occured at his home during lunch.

Tom Responds to Gatsby by explaining to him that Daisy and he have a relationship and history. Daisy then tells Gatsby that it's not true she never loved Tom, ruining Gatsby's dream.
Tom suggests that Gatsby earned his money through illegal activities, and claims that he'd have to steal the ring to put on her finger. After arguing for a while, Daisy asks to go home.
Tom then sends Gatsby and Daisy to go home together to prove to Gatsby that he can't hurt him.
You two start on home, Daisy, In Mr. Gatsby's car. He won't annoy you.
While Gatsby and Daisy are driving home, Myrtle ends up escaping from George's gas station where she was being abused. Without knowing they switched cars, she ran out into the street to try to get "Tom's" attention and gets struck by Gatsby's car. Daisy and Gatsby don't stop to check on Myrtle and leave her lying dead.
While driving home, Nick, Jordan, and Tom reach George's station where it appears that an accident has occured. At first, they have no idea what has happened, but when Tom finds out that Myrtle was killed, he is devastated.

After asking around they are informed that a yellow car driving from the same place they came from was the car that struck Myrtle. They come to the conclusion that it was Gatsby's car that killed Myrtle.
Back at Tom's house, Nick waits outside for a cab. While he is outside, he finds Gatsby hiding in a bush. Gatsby says he's making sure Tom doesn't hurt Daisy
You better come home and get some sleep.
He tells Nick that Daisy was responsible for killing Myrtle, but that he will take the blame. Nick checks up on Daisy at Gatsby's request, and assures him she's doing fine.
I want to wait here till Daisy goes to bed. Good night, old sport.
