  • Hi! I'm Lithium Leo , and this is my comic strip about Ionic and Covalent Compounds!
  • Some people are aiming to be the best version of themselves , but in the case of the two chemical bonds, they both need 8 valence electrons to be stable. This is due to the "octet rule".
  • Leo, how are people together with Covalent and Ionic Compounds related?
  • Lara, what is your opinion about the differences between Covalent and Ionic compounds?
  • An Ionic bond gives an electron to the other atom that is in the bond, while electrons on the Covalent bond are distributed uniformly. Aside from all of those, Ionic bond form between a metal and non-metal on the other hand, covalent forms between two non-metals.
  • Leo, how to name Covalent Compounds?
  • It's just very simple! You should just familiarize yourself the prefixes involved such as "Mono" for 1, "Di" for 2, and so on and so forth and you should also know when to change the arrangement of words by adding suffixes.
  • Of course Leo! an example of an Ionic Compound is NaF or Sodium Fluoride it is Ionic because there's a electrostatic attraction between oppositely charged ions.
  • On the other hand, example of Covalent compound isHydrogen or H2 it is known as Covalent if there is a sharing of electron pairs between atoms.
  • Good afternoon Sir! Can you provide me examples of Ionic and Covalent Compunds?
  • The design was taken originally from the internet. I just edited it and added my insights about the given topic.
  • I am Lithium Leo, and this sums up my comic strip about Covalent & Ionic bonds!
