- Benjamin Franklin attempts to bring the colonies together, but the colonists do not agree.
- THE ALBANY MEETING OF 1754
- None of the colonies want to give up their powers.

- The colonies should unite.
- PITT INTERVENES - 1757
- William Pitt, a new British prime minister, sends trained troops to fight for Britain in the war.
- FRANCE IS DEFEATED - 1759
- British forces capture the French cities of Quebec and Montreal, marking the defeat of France in America

- A TREATY IS SIGNED1763The Treaty of Paris is signed, forcing France to give up it's property in the New World.
- A NEW "WAR"

- Britain, in debt from the war, decides to tax the colonies. To help avoid Native American conflict, Britain also forbids settlers from going past the mountains
