My dear Mr Bennet, Nertherfield Park is taken by a young man of large fortune from the north of England.
Mr Bingley moves to Netherfield and Mrs Bennet thinks it is very likley he will fall in love with ONE of her five daughters. She begs Mr Bennet to visit him.

ACT 1: CONFLICT
She is not handsome enough for ME.
At the Netherfield ball Mr Bingley brings his friend Mr Darcy. Mr Bingley tells Mr Darcy that he should be dancing and suggests the main character, Elizabeth as a dance partner. Mr Darcy however says that she is not handsome enough for him, greatly offending the pride of Elizabeth.

ACT 2: RISING ACTION

At her Aunt's ball in Meryton, Elizabeth meets a new officer, Mr Whickham, who tells her how Mr Darcy disregarded his father's will and cheated him of the profession he was meant for: the church. Elizabeth's hatred for Mr Darcy grows.

ACT 3: CLIMAX
You are inferior to me and it is against my better judgement but will you marry me?
I would never marry you after what you did to Mr Whickham!!!!
When Elizabeth is visiting her friend Charlotte, who lives next door to lady Catherine DeBourgh, she makes the unfortunate discovery that Mr Darcy is Lady Catherine's nephew and is staying at her house. After a few weeks Mr Darcy corners her and makes a terrible proposal, which Elizabeth refuses. However, Mr Darcy soon explains to her that Mr Whickham is not a good man and the Darcy Parish was left to him only conditionally, and that instead Mr Whickham requested 3000 pounds, which Darcy gave him. Elizabeth feels very guilty.

ACT 4: FALLING ACTION

Elizabeth's sister absconds with Mr Whickum and Mr Darcy secretly pays of all of Mr whickums debts (adding up to over 10000 pounds) to get him to mary Lydia, and to save Elizabeth's family from embarrasment. Elizabeth finds out about this and is very greatful and embarassed that her family still continues to treat Mr Darcy poorly, even after what he has done for them.

Mr Darcy proposes to Elizabeth again, and she accepts. Mr Bingley also marries her elder sister Jane. THE END
