Storyboard Text

  • You have a grand gift for silence, Watson. It makes you quite invaluable as a companion..What is troubling you today??
  • What is it to you?
  • My name is Sherlock Holmes. It is my business to know what other people do not know.
  • I always hear ‘punch me in the face’ when you’re speaking, but it’s usually subtext. So, let me get to work now?
  • No man burdens his mind with small matters unless he has some very good reason for doing so. My mind, rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram or the most intricate analysis. and I am in my own proper atmosphere. I crave for mental exaltation.
  • Okay fine. Mrs Hudson and I are organising a fundraiser for the orphanage. We were hoping to have an exuberant wine tasting and play Robinhood for the kids.
  • Aha! The game is afoot.
  • We have 7 important tasks to complete before the final event which is in 7 weeks from now. But we need a lot more time. We are in a soup.
  • Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?
  • Sherlock! We don't have enough time.
  • I need to figure out the perfect venue, choosing that would at least take 3 weeks. Also personally invite the elites. Then we have to find the caterer and decide on the menu. This would mean another 2 and 1 weeks respectively. Ordering wine will take 5 weeks. We then have to design the layout for the final event which will take a week more.
  • Tell me what all needs to be done.
  • Excellent! But Watson, what is wine without cheese?
  • How did I miss mentioning that? Finding and ordering the finest cheeses would take us another 2 weeks. And then Mrs. Hudson would crib and make me spend another week on finalizing the other accompaniments. AAARRRHHH !
  • We have too much to do and too little time. I even agreed overpay the silly Wine distributor from France to fasten the most time-consuming task, from 5 weeks to 3 weeks. Still we need at least 13 weeks to get everything done.
  • There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact. All you need is six weeks.
  • Why have you left so much slack is something even my genius mind can’t understand. You are unnecessarily summing up time for tasks you can start simultaneously.
  • Cut to the chase Sherlock! We are short of time as it is.
  • Ask Mrs Hudson to chose the venue in two weeks or else tell her to forget about finishing everything for the fundraiser on time.
  • So what do you suggest we do?
  • You can order the cheese today itself with the wine. Then once those are delivered then your main preparatory tasks are done in 3 weeks all together, you can start inviting the guests. Accompaniments can be chosen soon after in a week.
  • I understand nothing Sherlock!
  • Let me project the image out of my mind palace.
  • *....!*
  • Don’t tell me you haven’t heard of PERT. That’s why you shouldn’t have slept in the OM class by Sirish Gouda at IIM T.
  • I have not lived for years with Sherlock Holmes for nothing.
