Storyboard Text

  • Hi Sir, I have a question about digital text as your a technology teacher, I was wondering if you could help me?
  • G.C
  • Of course I can help you Grace, what's your question?
  • I was wondering out of curiosity, how does a computer display text messages as we use messages every day and the computer must be very smart and know what it is doing ?
  • Well that is a very interesting question and I am so glad you asked. Firstly, the computer display system is divided into two modes: text mode and graphics mode. In text mode the display subsystem accepts ASCII code and then uses font bitmaps to produce the pixels. When in graphics mode, the frame buffer RAM stores the red, green, and blue values for each addressable pixel.
  • WOW, Digital technology sounds so interesting and I would love to learn more! Thank you so much Mr Raw for all your help!
  • And! Theres more, for the text to translate the alphabet into the digital system, text is made from a series of different numbers and codes that are called binary patterns these are represented by numbers 1s and 0s. Every letter or character must have a distinct binary pattern to represent it.
  • No worries Grace, I am always happy to help
