- You serve the British Navy now!!
- I hereby declare war on BRITAIN for my people, and their protection.
- Americans offered to not trade with the enemy for France and Britain, but Britain Refused. Americans decided to stop trade with the British, and the British ended up capturing american soldiers and forcing them to join their navy. (impressment)
- Madison decided that the best way to protect the sailors was to declare war on Britain.
- The Americans decided to try and capture Canada, because the British had it under rule. But, they failed.
- But, American naval forces fighting on Lake Erie and Lake Champlain in the north ended up stopping the invading of America by the British from Canada.
- The British ended up invading Washington D.C. a British army of 4,000 set fire to many buildings, and destroyed many. They ended up setting fire to the White House, and most of the Virginia countryside.
- Then the British headed to Baltimore, but they were stopped at Baltimore Harbor, and they were unable to conquer Fort McHenry.
