- EXPOSITION
- I travelled a very long distance in search of food and I am starving.
- A long time ago, there was a monkey who lived in a rose-apple tree by the side of a river. One day, a crocodile came out of the river. He swam up to the land and told the monkey that he had traveled a long distance and was in search of food as he was very hungry. The kind monkey offered him a few apples. The crocodile thanked him and asked him if he could visit the monkey again. The monkey said that he is always welcome.

- RISING ACTION
- If the monkey eats only these sweet apples, his flesh would be sweet too. He would be a delicious dinner!
- The crocodile's wife loved the apples but grew jealous of her husband spending so much time with the monkey. She pretended as if she did not believe her husband, a crocodile could be friends with a monkey. The crocodile convinced her of his friendship with the monkey.She thought to herself that if the monkey eats only those sweet rose apples then his flesh also must be sweet and he'd serve as a good dinner.

- EXPOSITION
- Here are some apples for your wife.
- The crocodile started visiting the monkey every day. Their friendship grew stronger. They would share rose apples and they talk about many things they knew. When the generous monkey got to know about the crocodile's wife, he gave some apples for his wife too.

- CLIMAX
- I am very ill and the doctor said I'll onlyget well if I eat a monkey's heart .If you want to save my life then you have to bring your friend's heart.
- The wife asked her husband to invite his friend home so that she could meet him. But the husband was not happy about inviting his friend home. When the crocodile denied the idea of getting the monkey home, she pretended to be sick and told that the doctor told her she'll be fine only if she gets to eat a monkey's heart and if he wanted to save his wife, he should bring his friend's heart.

- FALLING ACTION
- I'll be glad to help your wife but I left my heart back in the tree , if you swim back to the tree, I'll give you my heart
- I want to kill you and take your heart for my wife to recover
- The crocodile went to the rose apple tree and invited the monkey home and the monkey agreed. On reaching the middle of the river, the crocodile began to sink and the monkey, who was sitting on his back was frightened . The crocodile said that he wanted to kill him for his wife to get better. The monkey replied that he had left his heart back in the tree and that he would be happy to help if he swam back there. The crocodile was very happy and swam as fast as he could.

- RESOLUTION
- Now you can go back to your wicked wife and tell her that her husband is the biggest fool in the world. Your foolishness has no parallel.
- When they reached the riverside, the monkey climbed up the tree to safety. He looked down at the crocodile and explained to him how foolish he was. The monkey said that he was acting stupid and how he (crocodile) was getting deceived by his wicked wife as well as the monkey's words.Moral - A wise enemy is better than a foolish friend.
