- Life of Kunta Kinta Storyboard
- Birth of Kunta Kinta
- Kunta Kinta was born in Gambia, West Africa in 1750. His mom will give birth to him standing up. Eight days from birth he will be named by his father, and his Father only. There will be a ceremony at night. This is when he will gat his name.
- Capture of Kunta Kinta
- When teenage boys come to an age they must go to manhood training. After Kunta Kinta went to find a good log to make a drum for his little brother. He could not see the men who would catch him because the bushes were to tall. He will be chased till he is surrounded and caught.
- Held in a slave pen on the West African Coast
- On the coast of West Africa, the slaves will go through a sorting process. They will sort you by age, They will reject you if you are lame, if you have bad eye sight, or bad teeth. If you were rejected you were either beheaded or drowned. If you weren't rejected, you will be held in a slave pen. You will be packed together like a castle. You will be stacked like this till you board the boat.
- Packed in the haul in the slave ship
- Before the slaves board the ship, they will be branded. This is usually done to a cow or horse. Kunta Kenta will board the Lord Ligonier. There are two ways to pack a slave ship. Tight pack and lose pack. Tight pack will get more slaves on the ship, but most of them will die. Lose pack will have less slave, but only one third will die. The ship Kunta Kinta will board it will be loose pack. Since most of the time they will be laying down they will get boils, so when they are washed with salt water it will sting. Their diets consist of mashed beans. Most slaves will barf up the food given or refuse to eat.
- Slave revolt aboard the slave ship
- The slave revolt does not end well. While the slaves get their daily exercise, they will charge at the man who has the keys to their chains. They will tackle him and unlock most of the slave chains. They will beat most of the sailors, and kill the first man. They will be unsuccessful in winning the ship because a man will shoot a canon, and it will kill most of the slaves and crew on the ship.
- Being publicly auction as a slave for life
- Before you are auctioned of they will try to play the buyers. They will clean your wounds with lodine, then they will cover the wounds with black tar. Tar is usually used for fixing streets. Then the buyers will come to examine you to see if they want to buy you.
- Naming of Kunta Kinta as a slave
- Kunta Kinta will be renamed Toby. They will call him this because the first name he picked will already have been taken. He will deny the new name many of times, and he will die in 1822.
