- Ohhh. In French, hand signals mean different things! So when you signalled ok with this 👌, that meant ‘worthless’ to Audrey. When you scratched your chin, you did the French hand signal for ‘boring’.

- You also didn’t use the correct pronoun when speaking with her in French, so you were inadvertently rude. And there’s an unspoken French rule that jokes should be witty, so your joke wasn’t funny.
