God accepts the sacrifice of Abel and rejects that of Cain.
How can I give thanks to God?
When you're grown up, Abel, give to God the best of your flock. God told us that we ought to offer sacrifices in showing our gratitude.
While the brothers were growing up, Abel could not wait for the day when he could present his offering to God. In contrast, Cain focused only on his harvest.
If Abel offer a good sacrifice, I will also offer one also.
God was pleased with the offering of Abel, but He was displeased with the attitude of Cain.
Why has God favored my brother over me?
Cain kills Abel. And Cain becomes a restless wanderer on the earth.
Yes, although Cain is sure that no one saw him killing his brother, suddenly he is fearful. Whom would he see? Who?
Cain looks around ... And he hears God's voice asking him, "Where is your brother Abel?'
I ... I don't know! Am I supposed to watch over my brother?
God knows that I killed my brother.
Terrified, Cain listens the verdict from God: As punishment for having murdered Abel, Cain is evicted from his land and be condemned to be always a fugitive.
My God! This punishment is more than I can handle.
