Utterson is a mild-mannered lawyer. Utterson is going on his usual Sunday with Enfield. A strange door is noticed and Enfield breaks out into a story with the door and how about this strange man trampled a littler girl, he was "deformed" and goes by the name of Hyde, the cheque written in consolation of the girl has a very reputable mans name on it.. Utterson goes home and is haunted by the idea of Hyde. He decides to go out looking for him and he finds him, and talks to him, Hyde Leaves.
Chapter 9
Utterson stays late after Jekyll's party to question him about Hyde, Jekyll goes "Pale" and whishes' not to speak of it anymore, asking Utterson to just trust Hyde. Utterson promises to trust Hyde, even after having a loathing for him. About a year later in October time, a maid was watching life through her window when she saw a strange man and Hyde. She fainted after seeing Hyde club the man to the Erath with ape-fury.
Chapter 9
You freak.
Jekyll is pressured by Utterson about the Carew case. Jekyll starts opening up again 2 months after Carew's death, throwing causal drinking parties and such other things. Then after a while Utterson and everyone else is shut out from Jekyll's. Utterson goes to visit Lanyon and he looks like death. Lanyon dies within the next chapter and leaves Utterson a letter.
Chapter 10
My last will and testimony.
Poole goes to visit Utterson says somethings wrong with Jekyll. Utterson goes with Poole to find out Jekyll has shut himself in the cabinet for 8 days and Poole says the voice responding for medicine and herbs isn't that of Jekyll's. Eventually Utterson and Poole take the door down and I find a dead Hyde holding cyanide. A letter was on the side for Jekyll.
Lanyon writes a letter to only be opened upon his death. The letter talks about how he was gaslighted into doing a job by Jekyll, the job in question was to turn Hyde back to Jekyll. Upon completing the task and never wanting to see Jekyll again, Lanyon dies from trauma and shock.
Jekyll's final letter. This is the letter Jekyll wrote before his death, explaining everything. He goes into further detail that he has always been a good Samaritan and wanted a change in style. He felt more alive as Hyde then ever, and then eventually Hyde took over. At some point Hyde will die.
