- Hey kids, my name is Eddie and I'm an Indigenous Elder of the Gubbi Gubbi people. Today, we are at one of our sacred grounds.
- Hi Eddie!
- While Indigenous spirituality is not a religion, it is an important part of Aboriginal identity.
- Indigenous Australians have a great respect and strong connection with the land and their ancestors.
- How long has Indigenous Spirituality been around?
- Indigenous Spirituality has been around for over 70,000 years. While it's not as popular today, it has been passed down for generations.
- Indigenous stories have been passed down by elders through song, dance, art and storytelling.
- Stories just like the Dreaming have been passed down in my family for generations. I am Indigenous Australian!
- The students said bye and thanked Buddhist monk, Hanh, and visited the last stop on their excursion, a nearby Indigenous sacred ground. When they arrived at the sacred ground, they met Indigenous Elder, Eddie.
- I hope we all had fun today! It's important to learn about the different cultures, religions and beliefs, even if you don't agree or share the same beliefs.
- It was so much fun and now I can be a more understanding friend!

- Good question Alinta, Australia is multiculturalism society. This means there are many different religions and cultures that live here. So, it's important to be able to respect their beliefs, even when they are different to yours.
- After hearing Eddie talk about Indigenous spirituality Alinta could not keep her excitement hidden any longer.
- For the last time that day, the children waved bye to Eddie and jumped back onto the bus to go back to school. They had learnt so much today about different religions and their unique beliefs.
- But Miss Smith, why is it so important to know other peoples' beliefs?
- The students loved their excursion to the Catholic Church, Islam Mosque, Buddhist Temple and the Indigenous sacred ground. They never properly understood their religion before. But after today, they felt more connected to their faith than ever and were so excited to know more about their friends too!
- Thanks Miss Smith, I think I understand now!
