No Water Off a Duck's Back Graphic Novel

Today we will be conducting an experiment about pollution by examining the effect oil has on eggs and a feather, as well as soap. I will demonstrate everything up here and you will do as I do or say. I will also be walking around to supervise and assist!
There is cooking oil and a pot of water on your lab tables. Please pour in 1 teaspoon of oil to the water and observe how the two substances interact.
Now you will add 3 eggs into the water with oil. Remove one after 5 minutes, one after 15 minutes, and the third one after 30 minutes.
Observe the differences in the 3 eggs and discuss with your group.
Now, you will examine a feather. Take a look at the feather after being dipped in clean water, then dip it in oil water and observe how it changes. Discuss and sketch the feather in its two forms in your notebooks.
After you have done this, go ahead and clean your feather with detergent and clean water and let it dry. Note any differences in the feather before and after being dipped in oil, cleaned, and dried off. Sketch these differences.
