  • A journey through the Respiratory System
  • Once upon a time, there was an air particle that had to make a journey through the respiratory system. But what is it, and what is it for??
  • The millions of cells in our body, require an important element called oxygen.
  • Cells use oxygen and give off carbon dioxide, which our bodies must get rid of. This process is called respiration.
  • The journey begins in the nose when you breathe in. The air is warmed and moistened, and dust particles are taken out.
  • After the nose, the air travels down the throat and into a large tube. This is called the trachea or windpipe.
