A journey through the Respiratory System
Once upon a time, there was an air particle that had to make a journey through the respiratory system. But what is it, and what is it for??
The millions of cells in our body, require an important element called oxygen.
Cells use oxygen and give off carbon dioxide, which our bodies must get rid of. This process is called respiration.
The journey begins in the nose when you breathe in. The air is warmed and moistened, and dust particles are taken out.
After the nose, the air travels down the throat and into a large tube. This is called the trachea or windpipe.
