One day, a summer flood washes a young mongoose named Rikki-tikki-tavi away from his family. He's found and revived by a British family living in India. The family decided to adopt him.
Nag is dead! Nag is dead!
The safety of the garden is threatened by the two cobras, Nag and Nagaina. He decides to kill them one day. Before that, he kills another snake, Karait. And the British family think he is a hero.
That night, Rikki patrols Teddy's home. He accidentally hears Nag and Nagaina are planning to kill the British family so that they can get rid of Rikki. He also learns that Nagina has unhatched eggs hidden.
Nag falls asleep in the bathroom while he waits to attack the humans. Rikki-tikki wins the terrible battle against Nag. Teddy's father uses a gun to shoot Nag in half and throws the snake on the trash pile.
Rikki-tikki has a plan to kill Nagina. Darzee's wife fakes a broken wing to distract Nagina. She leaves her nest of nearly-hatched eggs and begins to chase the bird. He kills the unhatched cobras when Nagina left.
Thinking the man killed her husband, Nagina corners the entire family on the veranda.
