  • Where did it all begin?The roots trace back to 1680's England. Where Issac Newton published the "Pincipia Mathematica" and when John Locke published "Essay concerning Human understanding. And these two works provided the scientific, mathematical and philosophical toolkit for the Enlightenment.
  • How did the Enlightenment effect individuals?After the publish of John Lockes work people started to develop their own talents to their full potential. And they started living life on their own sake rather than the sake of the church or the state. And this is how the idea of natural laws was introduced. Rights that everyone has and is born with. Rights that the state or the church can't take away from the people.
  • How did it affect the government?The Enlightenment undermined the the authority of the monarchy and paved the way for the political revolutions of the 18th and the 19th centuries. It also caused people to rebel and start to point out when they were getting mistreated and stand up for themselves instead of just dealing with it.
