- Calling all passengers from spacecraft 101 , report immediately to the nearest space station
- Roger that captain! *Sigh* Finally I've been saved!
- Why did our teacher make me go to space. This has absolutely nothing to do with astronomy in the Quran
- Whoa whoa, wait a second Maryam. There are so many things in space that have to do with the Quran. I'll point some out on the way
- Like the fact we are floating. In space there is no gravity. Gravity is the force that keeps us on the ground. A scientist named Sir Issac Newton discovered gravity. What we believe as Muslims is that Allah (swt) gives gravity the permission to do its job. If he didn't, we would be floating around on earth.
- I'm gonna be sick
- Look there! It's the earth.
- Wait, if the earth is in space and is so vulnerable to meteors but doesn't get destroyed, why did our ship get destroyed so easily?
- هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعً۬ا ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَسَوَّٮٰهُنَّ سَبۡعَ سَمَـٰوَٲتٍ۬ۚ "It is He Who created everything on the earth for you and then directed His attention up to heaven and arranged it into seven regular heavens(Quran 2:29)
- Well, in various ayah in the Quran,Allah (swt) states he created seven heavens above the earth. Some scholars agree that the seven heavens are the seven layers of atmosphere above the earth. They are: 1. Troposphere 2. Stratosphere 3. Ozonosphere 4. Mesosphere 5.Thermosphere 6. Ionosphere 7. Exosphere
- وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقۡفً۬ا مَّحۡفُوظً۬اۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَـٰتِہَا مُعۡرِضُونَ "We made the sky a preserved and protected roof yet still they turn away from Our Signs.." (The Qur'an, 21:32
- The "protected roof " in this ayah is thought to be the atmosphere. The atmosphere protects us from many things such as asteroids, meteors, sun bursts,etc.
- وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقۡفً۬ا مَّحۡفُوظً۬اۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَـٰتِہَا مُعۡرِضُونَ "We made the sky a preserved and protected roof yet still they turn away from Our Signs.." (The Qur'an, 21:32
- According to one of my sources:The energy released in a Sun burst is so powerful that the human mind would hardly comprehend it: A single burst is equivalent to 100 billion atomic bombs similar to the one dropped on Hiroshima.
- وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡحُبُكِ "By the sky full of paths and orbits."(The Qur'an, 51:7)
- Oh, my Islamic studies teacher once told us that this ayah mentions the orbits the planets go in. A German astronomer named Johannes Kepler discovered orbits after new technology such as telescopes came, and Allah (swt) revealed the Quran years before any one was able to look into space.
- Subhanallah. Who knew space had so much to do with Islam. The most amazing thing is that the Quran mentions this way before us humans discovered it.
