Storyboard Text

  • Please, Mercutio, let's go. The day is hot and the Capulets are around. If we meet them we shall not escape a brawl.
  • Ah Benvolio, you're always the one looking for a fight. Don't worry about them. We'd win anway.
  • I'm looking for Romeo. You consort with him, right? Where might he be?
  • Consort? Are we like musicians in a band? I'll show you my fiddlestick.
  • Please go somewhere else to fight.
  • Benvolio notices the Capulets are around and tells Mercutio they should leave before they get into a fight. Mercutio claims Benvolio is always looking for a fight and tells him not to worry.
  • Ah, here's the man I'm looking for. Romeo, you're a villain, therefore turn and draw.
  • Good day, Tybalt. I am no villain. I wish to keep the peace between us. I will not fight you.
  • Tybalt comes up to Mercutio and Benvolio and asks where Romeo is.
  • Tybalt, you ratcatcher, will you walk?
  • Alright, I am for you.
  • Mercutio draws his sword, making a joke out of Tybalt's accusations. Benvolio begs Tybalt and Mercutio to go someplace else to fight.
  • Hold Tybalt! Good Mercutio! Please stop this fighting.
  • Romeo arrives and Tybalt asks him to draw his sword and fight. Romeo refuses because Tybalt is Juliet's cousin.
  • Mercutio gets upset that Romeo refused to fight, so he offers to fight instead.
  • Gentle Mercutio, put thy rapier up.
  • Romeo tries to stop the fight, but Tybalt stabs Mercutio from underneat Romeo's arm.
