- After sharing a story that relates to their situation, Esperanza and Alfredo argue. This leads to miscommunication and confrontation since Alfredo's response is the exact opposite of what Esperanza wants to hear. Afterward, Esperanza admits that she knew something wasn't right and wanted to call off the wedding.

- After many years, we met again, Julia
- Esperanza and Alfredo continued to marry since it was inevitable, especially when everyone around them was aware of their upcoming nuptials. However, their relationship was far from ideal owing to the tension that happened, and Alfredo still thinks about Julia.

- I felt my feelings for you as soon as I felt you in my arms, and that insight helped me to realize that something had been lost—like a dead star that is still present but has lost its shine.
- Although Alfredo's primary reason for visiting Julia's hometown was for work, he learnt about Julia's residence and came there to meet and speak with her in order to fully free himself from the past.
- Alfredo realizes, after seeing her again, that any sentiments he may have had for her back then, he has let go of and accepted the reality that they are merely a remnant of his past.
