- (Set in Victorian Era). A young maiden named Adelia is sent to-desolate English countryside-arranged marriage to a stranger who is a powerful man. Goes alone: Father works abroad, mother died years ago. Arrived at the large gothic style castle with 3 rose windows-man not there-told to wait
- I'm very likely to be imagining them
- At night, when she was trying to sleep-faintly heard some laughter coming from above. She didn't think too much of it-was a bit nervous and excited-but thought it was because that she was tired-She loved the castle and it's rooms
- The next night she again heard laughter, louder this time-faint sounds of walking-felt uneasy-got up and checked the different floors-everything was normal-moon shown in from the rose window-she goes back to bed
- All is normal... There are no spirits, no demons; you fear excessively
- Days later, she went into the village. Villagers murmured ahhh another one Some people told her a bit about the stories surrounding the castle and the man who owns it-haunted, man tricks young women to come- She was concerned-decided to leave if anything very ominous occurs on her
- I saw it move! No-it didn't! No-why am I on the turret? Dear lord, protect me, for I have been consumed in horror
- A week passed-nothing more really happened-she enjoyed life in the castle. Then, suddenly would lose her way around the castle-there were more passages that she remembered-thought she was going to the library-ended up on the turret. The winding staircases seemed to cave in and contort, trapping her-but then everything would return to normal
- She tried to leave-but when she stepped outside the gates-felt this immense sadness and despair-like some part of her was missing-felt the castle calling to her, pulling her back-involuntarily ran back into the house-and felt complete
