- In this scene Bilbo is telling the Dwarves that they should not give up all hope and keep trying. This is important because this is were they start there journey to find the exit.
- chapter 16 : A Thief In The Night
- " This is the Arkenstone of Thrain"PAGE 248
- This scene shows that Bard has slayed the mighty dragon Smaug. This is an important scene because this is were Smaug dies and is no longer a problem to the dwarves and Bilbo.
- chapter 17 : The Clouds Burst
- In this chapter the dwarves are just now learning that Smaug is dead. This is an important scene because this is were they learn that they can go back to the cave and they also meet the oldest raven Roäc.
- Chapter 18 : The Return Journey
- In this chapter Bilbo went out of the cave and went to the elves and lake peoples camp. This is important because this is when he gives the Arkenstone to Bard.
- In this chapter there was a huge war and there was dwarves and elves and all kind of other creatures. This is an important scene because this is were most of the warriors died (Fili and Kili and almost all of the goblin) it was a very important part of the story.

- In this chapter Bilbo awakes to the war being over and Thorin's death. In this scene Bilbo is saying goodbye to his dear pal Thorin, this is an important scene in this chapter because this is were Thorin king under the mountain dies.
