  • I can't believe my sister broke my computer
  • Compensation is when a person makes an attempt to make up for unconscious fears or impulses. In this scene, Bob feels that he isn't good at studying, so he watches a movie.
  • Projection
  • Denial is when a person is unwilling to see the truth about something undesirable. In this scene, the person does not believe he failed the test.
  • Rationalization
  • I get tired very qickly
  • Displacement is the diversion of feelings (usually anger) or behaviors to a less threatening target. In this scene, John is angry at his sister, and decides to take it out on the punching bag
  • Sublimation
  • I hate everybody !
  • Projection is when you attribute your own thoughts , motives, feelings, or behaviors to another person. In this scene, Christian calls his friend a liar because he feels guilty about lying.

  • Rationalization is when someone offers a false but plausible excuse or explanations to justify unacceptable thoughts or behaviors. In this scene, two friends are talking. Jacob asks why Ryan doesn't play more, and Ryan reasons that it makes him too tired.

  • Sublimation is when a person attempts to turn unacceptable thoughts or actions into something desirable. In this scene, Robert has anger issues, so he takes up boxing
