- Hey Robert what are you doing?
- I'm working on a project
- As Jake walks into class, he asks Robert what he is working on.
- What's the project on?
- The States of Matter
- Robert replied a project.
- The States of Matter? What is that?
- Jake and Robert are in the science lab. They are discussing the three states of matter
- Well Jake, there are three states of matter.
- Robert is explaining to Jake what the three states of matter is
- There's a solid, a liquid,and a gas.
- Robert is explaining what a solid is
- A solid is firm and stable in shape. A solid is not a liquid or a fluid
- Robert is explaining what a liquid is
- A liquid is a substance that takes the shape of its material
- Robert explaining what a gas is
- A gas is an air like fluid substance which freely fills any space available regardless of it's quantity
- So what are you trying to do?
- Robert telling Jake what his project is on
- Showing how ice changes from a solid to a liquid and a liquid to a gas
- Melting
- Evaporation
- Condensation
- Freezing
- Oh I get it. I see how ice changes forms. When it is melting, its changing from a solid to a liquid. When it is freezing, it is changing from a liquid to a solid. When it is changing from a liquid to a gas, that is called evaporation. Finally, when it is changing from a gas to a liquid, it is called condensation.
