  • It was a very anxious morning for Daniel. He was absent for the entirety of the previous week due to a cold, and on this very day, when he was going to return to classes, their Science class would also be having a long quiz about the five main pioneers of electromagnetism.
  • It's too early in the morning to be awake, but I don't know much about some pioneers of electromagnetism!
  • I already know Oersted and Faraday, but I don't have a single clue about Ampère, Maxwell nor Hertz!
  • Not knowing anything about the three of the five pioneers of electromagnetics, he decides to ask his mother if she knows anything about them.
  • Mom, do you know who Ampère, Maxwell, or Hertz were?
  • I only remember who Ampère was, but anyway, let me tell you facts about him.
  • The pioneers of electromagnetics? Let me think.
  • He's a French physicist and was one of the people who originally founded the science of classical electromagnetics. He tried to develop a theory about the relation of electricity and magnetism.
  • He also tried to use mathematics in generalizing physical laws from the results of his experiments, for example producing Ampère's law. I forgot for what this law was being used for, though.
  • He showed that two parallel wires carrying electric currents can either attract or repel each other depending on if they flow in the same or opposite direction.
