- One Day, after Jack did his community service, he started to wonder about the injustice he saw in his community service
- Hmm...
- After going to the Sunrise community center and doing the open hand service project he wondered, "why isn't healthy food available and affordable to all seniors in need?"
- Why?!?
- Jack asked his friend Hallie about the injustice. She had no idea that this was even a problem. Jack realized one of the problems was people didn't know this was an issue, because the elderly are often neglected by society.
- Yep.
- This is a problem!?
- Project Open Hand
- Jack thought the work at project open hand was great. However he knew it was not enough. He read in a newspaper that 9 mil. seniors can't afford to feed themselves. He knew that we needed change, to protect these vulnerable people.
- Jack came up with a new plan. Jack knew he needed to get the government involved with senior care because they are citizens too. He also decided to help raise awareness of the issue via social media and to promote Project Open Hand.
- So, Jack got his friends involved and created a social media campaign called Seniors ARE Citizens.
- Seniors ARE Citizens.
- It's awesome how kids can make a change through actions!
- All of America was talking about Seniors ARE Citizens and their works to raise awareness and do service for the issue of the basic rights for senior citizens.
- Neato! Service with friends is fun and cool!
- Then Jack got to the government... That's where he hit a roadblock in his journey
- What's up Obama?
- Congress didn't want this to cost them money. So they called him a communist and socialist and some even said he was evil.
- Commie!
- You hate America!
- One night Jack went to bed sad and defeated by the Government. God sent his Eminence, Dom Helder Camara to encourage him that he is doing the right thing.
- Jack, I was in a similar situation. Look, God is with you. In Matthew 19-28 the Jesus said "I am with you always until the end of age". You are doing His works. He gave me strength too. As I once said "When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why they are poor, they call me a communist."
- Dom gave him a great pep talk.
- Jack then felt the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit surge through him like lava and fire. He felt amazing knowing he had the Lord and Dom at his side.
- Jack, spiritually revived, confronted Congress and got federal legislation completely passed, so that now Senior citizens who were receiving poor care, can now get the care and nutrition they need from the Government..
- Jack! Jack! Jack!
- YAY!
- Seniors all over America praised Jack for helping them receive their basic needs. When Jack and his friend Hallie were Seniors they were glad their needs could be meet because of their social change
