  • Hello, I am Democritus. I propose that all matter is composed of tiny and uncuttable particles called atomos.
  • All substances are made up of atoms.#160;#160;which are indivisible and indestructible building units.
  • I proposed that atom was a sphere, but the positive and negative charges were embedded within it. I called my model the plum pudding model or chocolate chip cookie model.
  • One of the first atomic theorists was Democritus, a Greek philosopher who lived in the fifth century BC. Democritus knew that if a stone was divided in half, the two halves would have essentially the same properties as the whole.Therefore, he reasoned that if the stone were to be continually cut into smaller and smaller pieces then; at some point, there would be a piece which would be so small as to be indivisible. He called these small pieces of matter atomos,
  • I discovered that most of the particles went through gold in the gold foil experiment. The atom has#160; dense center which I call the nucleus.
  • Dalton’s atomic theory was a scientific theory on the nature of matter put forward by the English physicist and chemist John Dalton in the year 1808. It stated that all matter was made up of small, indivisible particles known as ‘atoms’.
  • Electrons move in fixed orbitals (shells) and not anywhere in between and he also explained that each orbit (shell) has a fixed energy.#160;
  • Thomson's discovery of the electron completely changed the way people viewed atoms. Up until the end of the 19th century, atoms were thought to be tiny solid spheres. In 1903, Thomson proposed a model of the atom consisting of positive and negative charges, present in equal amounts so that an atom would be electrically neutral.
  • In the year 1910, Ernest Rutherford The Nucleus and theprotons inside the Nucleus through the gold foilexperiment. In 1911, he also proved Thomson's Plum Pudding wrong.#160;Rutherford concluded that the atomconsisted of a small, dense, positively charged nucleus inthe center of the atom with negatively charged electronssurrounding it.
  • The Bohr model of the atom was proposed by Neil Bohr in 1915. It came into existence with the modification of Rutherford’s model of an atom. Rutherford’s model introduced the nuclear model of an atom, in which he explained that a nucleus (positively charged) is surrounded by negatively charged electrons.
  • So this is are their atomic model theory, now I know.
