Today's lesson taught me about tone, POV, and purpose. From the topics discussed in this lesson, I feel that I was able to better my knowledge of tone and purpose because I was able to find examples more easily once they were reviewed. When analyzing a Humanities passage tone, POV, and purpose, you should expect to see how their writing and diction reflects their attitude towards a topic, if the purpose of their passage is to inform, entertain, or persuade you, or if they have any personal experiences/opinions regarding the topic. From reading the passage in today's assignment, I noticed that the tone was enlightening, the POV was somewhat like a reflection using 1st and 3rd person POV, and the purpose of the passage was to entertain the reader. The passage's provided in the lesson was a lot harder for me to analyze because of the way it was formatted and it's topic but with some help, I was able to recognize some other ways to determine the tone, POV, and purpose of a passage.
