- It is Odysseus’s famed curiosity that leads him to the Cyclops’scave and that makes him insist on waiting for the barbaric giant.(1st page)
- One day people sailed out in search of new land.
- look a cave!
- when they spotted a cave
- “We lit a fire, burnt an offering,and took some cheese to eat; then sat in silencearound the embers, waiting. (1)
- so they stayed and looked in the cave. But little did they know cyclopes was in the cave.
- Now, by the gods, I drove my big hand spikedeep in the embers, charring it again,and cheered my men along with battle talkto keep their courage up: no quitting now. (150)
- Then one of them stabbed cyclopes in the eye causing him to go blind. And when he was blind the man said his name was nobody so when he called for them nobody knew who "Nobody "was
