Storyboard Text

  • "I will go see Mr. Wolf, the king of time. He will know what time it is."
  • Once upon a time, in a far away land, the animals were the keepers of time. Each creature, whether big or small, had a clock on their body. These clocks helped them in different ways. One day something awful happened...the clocks stopped working. All of the animals were in a panic! They did not know when to eat, sleep, work, or play.
  • "Ahh...yes. Well the minute hand is pointing to the 12 so we would read that as o'clock. The hour hand is pointing to the 5. The time is 5 o'clock."

  • Mr. Owl relied on his clock to tell him when to give the first hoot and tell the forest that night had arrived. Being very wise, Mr. Owl knew exactly what he should do. "I will go to see Mr. Wolf, the king of time. He will know what time it is." He swooped down from his perch and quickly flew away toward Mr. Wolf's cave.
  • When Mr. Owl arrived at the cave, Mr. Wolf was standing outside. He had just awoken from a nap and was feeling quite starving. He looked at Mr. Owl's feathers and small body. He licked his lips and then said, "What can I do for you? Mr. Owl explained that his body clock was broken and asked for the great wolf's help, "What time is it Mr. Wolf?"
  • "I will go see Mr. Wolf, the king of time. He will know what time it is."
  • The wolf explained the time and then invited Mr. Owl into his cave. "Come and sit for a while. I will try to fix your clock." Mr. Owl gladly accepted the wolf's offer. It was only 5:00. It would be many hours before he needed to be home to warn the animals that night had fallen.

  • He flew into the cave and sat at the dining table. He watched as Mr. Wolf disappeared into a dark part of the cave. Then, the bird heard the wolf making quite a ruckus. The sound of pots and pans crashing together filled the empty cave. Mr. Owl did not think much of it. Perhaps the wolf was getting tools to fix his broken clock.
  • Meanwhile, Mr. Deer was sniffing around the forest looking for a fine tree to rub up against, when he noticed that his clock was not working! He was frantic. He needed to know the time so that he could avoid the big bear that came bumbling around at night. He thought for a second and then had a brilliant idea.
