- Finally, my birthday was near. For months I had been an eager-beaver for this day. \I more than ever wished for my dream birthday gift, a puppy. My best friend Liz had a cute little puppy, and I really wanted one for myself to take care.But the problem was, my family was not well to do, we had barely food on the table sometimes. There was no way my parents would spend so much money on a puppy, right?
- On the last day of school before my birthday, I waited impatiently for the school bell to ring and ran home as fast as my legs could take me. That night, the whole family made preparations for my birthday party the next day.
- That night, my family and I out up colorful banners, my dad went to collect the cake and I was more excited then ever. My 12th birthday was finally happening!! Even I had to put the fact that I won't get my dream gift behind me.
- The next day, at noon we welcomed my classmates with open arms. They had all came to my birthday party. We partied and played a few games until nighttime, when we ate a wonderful pasta dinner, which my mom whipped up, and ate cake that my dad personally baked. That was all I could ask for from my parents. They worked hard for me and I was grateful.
- Finally, it was present opnening time, I excitedly opened one after one presents, until I reached my parents present. It was a big cardboard box. Unable to contain my excitement , I opened the box gingerly...
- To my absolute delight and surprise, it was a cute puppy!! It wagged its little tail at me, as if to say hello. I looked at my parents with tears of gratitude in my eyes. I could not express my gratitude to my parents
