The king then executed Haram and made the law that on the 13th day of Adar the Jews in Persia can fight and defeat all their enemies. The Jews now celebrate the 13th day of Adar of a day of feasting and happiness.
The story is set in a place called Susa the Persian capital. The main characters in this story are: Mordecai (Jew), Esther (Mordecai's niece), Haman (Persian official, the evil character) and the King Ahasuerus (the very powerful king or Persia)
The king of Persia invited all the officials of Shushan to a banquet to show and express his wealth. The banquet lasted 187 days.
The King demanded that his wife comes to the banquet to show of her beauty. Although she said no and made the king angry.

The king got so mad he wanted a new Queen. He hosted a parade for the Persian women to show off their beauty. This is where Esther is first introduced. Esther hid her Jewish identity so she can impress the king.
The king thought Esther was so pretty so he made her his queen. Although the king didn't know she was a Jew.
