The package was lying by the front door- a cube shaped carton sealed with tape, their name and adress printed by hand "Mr. and Mrs.Arthur Lewis, 217 E. Thirty~seventh Street, New York.
Inside the carton was a push~button fastened to a small wooden box. A glass dome covered the button. Norma tried to lift it off, but it was locked in place. She turned it over to see a paper scotch~taped to the bottom of the box.

The doorbell rang at eight o'clock. There was a small man at their door. He removed his hat as Norma opened the door. "Mrs. Lewis?" he inquired politely. "Yes?" "I'm Mr.Steward." "Oh, yes."
Mr. Steward sat down and pulled out a sealed envelope. Inside was a key to the button~unit dome. He sat the envelope on the chair side table. Mr.Steward said "if you push it someone in the world will die and you will get $200,000."
