- Mrs. Brand (calling). Steve, the power's off. I had the soup on the stove, and the stove stopped working.
- Doesn't make sense. Why should the power go off all of the sudden, and the phone line?
- Woman Next Door. Same thing over here. I can't get anybody on the phone either. The phone seems to be dead.
- Charlie. No more talk, Steve. You're going to talk us into a grave! You'd let whatever's out there walk right over us , wouldn't yuh? Well, some of us won't!
- Don. We may need this.
- Steve. A shotgun?
- Beginning - This scene took place when the story just started and all the electricity and phone lines turned off.
- Steve (slowly looks up). It's Pete Van Horn.
- Beginning - This is the start of the people on Maple Street showing their fear and terror.
- Middle - Don pulls out a shotgun and Charlie takes it aggressively away from Don's hands.
- Middle - Charlie shoots Pete Van Horn to the ground.
- Ending - Charlie screams Tommy is the real alien.
- Ending - The aliens were watching and controlling the lights and electricity .
